I am still very blown away, for lack of a better term, by Google Earth. Lately I have been using it to keep an eye on the cabin to make sure the bear hasn't broken in again.
Doesn't Google earth only update once every few years? I like using local.live.com to see the aerial photographs taken in all four of the cardinal directions. Unfortunately they only have stuff on big cities right now, but its really great for finding stuff on beaches under bluffs or in the woods. Additionally you should check out Google street. It is Google's version of what streets in cities look like, taken with a 360 degree dome camera on top of a car; they stitch the images together and you can sort of "drive" down the road and take corners and see what it would look like to drive down some arbitrary street or through say... times square. Someday Google will just take over the earth huh? That will be a good time...
Hey, at least Google's satellite image wasn't taken when your cabin was under siege by bears. Then every time you looked at it you would have to drive out there...

What do you mean? Are saying that I am just looking at the same picture of my cabin over and over and that's why it looks bear free?
You got it.
