1931-2006

Robert, my great friend, mentor, boss, and so much more, died Friday. To say he will be missed is not a strong enough statement. If I wrote pages about Robert and ended it with “He will be missed,” it would all feel like faint praise. This is not a situation where I am at a loss for words. The more I say, the more I want to say. I am just not sure what to say and what not to say. What I want people who read this to know is that I loved him. He was like a father and a son at the same time. This is a real loss.

I am very sorry for your loss.

I liked him.

Thanks for including us in your loss, Jonathan. It is good to share the pain of life--and death. I know that Robert is honored that you have shared his impact on your life. You, likewise, have impacted many of us and I want you to know that you are loved, too. Is there a memorial planned here in ABQ?

by way of your stories, i really came to care for robert as if i had known him. thank you for that.
there is no doubt that what you've gained by having him in your life, is much greater than your loss...this part just stings more.
i'm thinking of you & joy, & enjoying him through his work that is hanging in your milwaukee bedroom. xo.

I didn't find out until today. I have been touched, like so many, by your loving relationship to the man. You have him an incredible gift. Having done so makes me love you all the more.
